4th Annual Cactus to Cloud
Join us again in the Sacramento Mountains of Southern New Mexico for the 4th annual Cactus to Cloud trail run! Again for 2018, we have a 10 miler in addition to the classic 50k race. The 10 miler will end at Sunspot, making sure you don't miss out on the climb up Dog Canyon! Ask anyone from last year, it's an amazingly beautiful and brutal challenge!

Follow in the footsteps of the Mescalero Apache, Spanish settlers, a French hermit, lawmen and outlaws of the wild west along the historic Dog Canyon trail. Run through the clouds, pines and aspen of the Lincoln National Forest, with views of the Tularosa Basin and White Sands National Monument from the Sunspot Observatory and Rim trail. Celebrate the journey at the finish line in the hamlet of Cloudcroft, NM.

The course will take you from the scrubland of the Chihuahua desert, through juniper-piƱon red clay, and into the forest and clouds. Enjoy epic climbs, stellar views, small town charm and single track bliss at the first and only mountain race in Southern New Mexico!

Packet pickup will be the Friday before the race, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Pavillion in Zenith Park in Cloudcroft. This is next to the tennis courts across from the school.
Proceeds from the race go to benefit the Cloudcroft Runners and Cloudcroft High School Cross Country Team.

The Cactus to Cloud Trail Run is authorized under Special Use Permits approved by the United States Forest Service, Oliver Lee State Park and Village of Cloudcroft.
